This is really great sweet light shot. the plover looks **** cute to me.
if you have space on bottom i would love to see a version where more of reflection visible and bird placed in 1st 1/3rd part of frame in top.
i gave try in ps and it was looking bit different and creative. Yes it might break the rule but you have beautiful bird, nice features captured.:w3

Cute little fellow, nice light angle, good shooting angle. When the reflection is indistinct as here, I have a tendency to actually crop much of it out, just leaving enough to balance the composition. There are lots of variables, and you have to decide on a case by case basis, but I always at least look at that.
I would consider toning down the white spot in the BG above the back, and also look at toning down the whites on the breast a bit. I suspect they aren't blown, but are pretty bright in spots.

Two excellent critiques above. I would add that that is one very fresh juvenile! Look at the scalloped crown!!! You can post vertical much larger > 800px tall.
