I'm back. I finally managed to spend some time this morning
prostrated flat on the cold, very cold, mud at Revere beach.
There are tons of shorebirds there, mostly juvs.

Nikon D700, 300mm+TC14, flash @ -2/3, ISO400, f/5.6, 1/400
30% crop, work on the BG.

Cheers,

Ilija

Ilija:

Very nice feel, sense of a young bird learning to function in a bit world.

Nice colors, low intimate (muddy :t3) angle.

I agree about the IQ. I might also add a sliver to the right to give him more room to move into.

Cheers and good to see you back.

Hi Mital,

No these are mostly 1st year birds, hatched in the arctic. This one most likely
on the north shores of Canada, Buffin Is. to Banks Is. or so. It is full swing migration
in the Boston area right now, and all the "kids" are going south. Lots of parents too.

Thanks for the comments, this is a large crop, no NR though, and the light conditions were
just horrible. The pastel color is a brick building on the beach.

Interesting pose, out of the box image design. Does not look too good....

I like the pink hues, low angle and the foot out of water. hopefully, you get better chances from a closer distance.
