I had just bought my first photo equipment. So here it was just to get out to shoot the Shore Bird. I hit a dunlin who were not shy. I felt I had to get it close and low. So what do you do then when you had not heard of "get low get dirty." Sit down for 30 to 40cm deep water. Had anyone seen me they had gotten a good laugh, or they had called the doctor. This man must be seriously ill .................................... I am missing some data due to computer crashes. Canon 30D

Your shorebird images are getting better and better. Sharp where it needs to be with a good EXP and a nice composition. Is this a juvenile?

Geir , that is a great dunlin image, made so by the habitat. I also like your saying about happiness.

Man I love the vegetation here, and the way the foot is wrapped around the top of the leaf. I only wish the OOF stuff in lower right corner wasn't there, but I wish this was mine!!

Get down low and wet / dirty is the FUN way to do it!:S3:

I'm no expert, but I think it is a juvenile.

Love how the vegetation colours compliment the bird. Nice low angle and framing too. Shows that the 30D could produce great images! :bg3:

Fantastic work!! Bird is slightly big in the frame for my taste but still an awesome image!

Love the foot and seaweed in forground- the BG is also very nice. The placement of the beak before it overlaps the seaweed is also a big plus for me.

I am very grateful for the nice feedback. Tomorrow I will travel to one of Norway's best places to photograph the Shore Bird.

man you have nailed this out. killer quality i cant even think of getting such close in our part with 700mm :). Vegetation is adding lot for me here. Just that i might give a little try to clone those black patches on upper background.

Am big fan of waders so little extra from my side :)
