I've been trying to do more small-in-frame shots.

Ft DeSoto, FL
1D MkIII
500 f/4 + 1.4x
1/400 @ f/10
+1/3 EV
580 EXII w/ BB at -2/3
ISO400

PP in LR3 with a bit of sand clean-up in PS5.

I really like the colors, the light and the exposure. I think the loose comp really works here.
Nice work.

David:

I like it. As often the case with small in frame subjects, the thumbnail isn't a real eye catcher, but the actual image works well for me. The slanted beach takes it up several notches.

For some reason it makes my think of an avian equivalent of Sisyphus, resting from his labors of pushing an oyster endlessly up the hill, only to see it roll back down before he can eat it.

Keep up the small in frame work. In many regards it is harder to do it successfully than in your face subject work.

Cheers

Beautiful colours and stunning BG which conpliments the small-in-frame approach so nicely. Great detail on the Oyster Catcher.TFS.

This image works well. All the colors are complimentary and there is a nice mood to it.
