Wonderful shot.. Carlo, First time I have seen this type of flies.. NIce sharp and good details on it.. I think this flies also venomous.. due to its ends telson. .is it??

No Scorpion fly is completely harmless to humans and is not even boring

Hi Galliani;

I really like this...nice, smooth BG; great pose, wonderful composition; and an unusual subject! I've never seen one of these...looks like a no-nonsense kind of critter! If it were mine, I might take a sliver off the top....nicely done!

Hi Carlo. Awesome image! I haven't seen a scorpion fly this colorful in this country. As you point out, despite their somewhat fearsome appearance, they are completely harmless. Excellent sharpness, a nice pose, nice even light, good comp, and a clean background. This is outstanding! :cheers:

Just exquisite. Love the selective focus with the soft BKGR. Love the beak (??) and the stinger. Had never seen or heard or one till now. TFS!
