Has anyone been to the Sultan Marshes in central Turkey? Or used services from Sultan Pansion? I am going there in a few weeks and looking for a guide as I only have one day. I received early communications from the operator, but then radio silence. Does anyone have a recommendation of a guide with a vehicle that can guide in the marshes and mountains in the area?

OK, I'll answer my own question - for the record and in case others venture out there! Sultan Marshes are about 1-1.5 hours outside of the central Capadoccia villages like Goreme. There is an extensive lake surrounded by marshes. I visited in around September 22 - the weather was about 80 degrees. However, the main migration had happened so there were almost no birds on the lake or in the marsh. We did get into some good birds on a secondary lake and canal system that went through farm fields. I'd estimate at that time of year there were about 40 species we encountered - about 25 of those we got reasonably good looks.

Interesting Cal, when is the best time to hit the peak migration?
Thanks for the update.
