Taken at 8000 ft. on Mt. Rainier in Washington State.
In habitat, the BG is the Nisqually glacier.

I like it...Nice detail. BG could be toned down but does not detract from the fact I still like it.

Hey Dan, good fur detail captured, and I like the angled pose. Interesting colours to the BG, they work for me - just a touch of a toning down will work.

Hi Dan, lovely image of the Marmot, nice pose and good detail in the fur. Also agree that the bright BG areas distract from the Marmot but in the wild ideal BG's are difficult.

Lovely sharpness and pose here Dan...the BG colours are very cool and contrast the brown marmot nicely. I agree toning down BG a touch will do nicely but I like it as posted too :S3:

Like the alert pose and the details in the marmot.

Thanks for the comments.
I like the BG. It is blue glacial ice and rock so I appreciate the criticism, but
I will keep it.

Dan,

In PS try Shadow/Highlight adjustment at the following:

Shadows: 45/40/30
Highlights: 40/25/30

I would also suggest a Curves adjustment and reducing at the 3/4 tones location on the curve.

I like this! Lovley pose, sharp with sweet light. Agree with toning down the BG.
