We're so fortunate here to have lotus plants growing in some of our public gardens. Fascinating images can be had throughout the entire life cycle of both the leaves and the flowers. Here's one taken at Chanticleer Garden in Wayne, PA. This is the not-yet-dried version of the seed pod. The dried version appears in the background.

I like the composition Mary At first the dried seed pod look odd and grabbing attention On looking closer I like the way its presented and feel it complements the image Would also love seeing one composed with the dried pod only !!!

I agree with Alfred that the dead pod balances well with the live pod. However, the live pod could certainly stand on its own in a differently composed image. Hoping to see more.

Exquisite composition, if anything, I'd add some more room for the stem at the bottom. Very unique. I like your "eye"

Thanks and much appreciation to all who responded. I don't have any "solo" shots of a single pod at this time (at least not any good enough to post ;)), but I'll be sure to take some this season. Lotus blooms come in July-Sept here.
