Out with Capt. Shadle and got some Juvenile Spoonbill shots.
Caught this one with open beak and raise leg. Cleaned up some spots on the water surface. Hope you like it.

Nice one, Troy, I'm always impressed by how the D3S performs in bright light. Sharpness good. Good choice in your aperture of f9; you knew you had plenty of light to work with, so why not stop down? I too am wondering how you got to a focal length of 1000 mm.

Craig, amateur mistake. Yeah I could have stopped down more.
This was the day my tripod broke, I had to constantly holding on the the 3rd leg. It bothered me that I was not able to be more focus on shooting. Plus this lasted a few frames only.
