Hey Carel,
I think the pose, exposure, BG, and DOF are great! The in your face look is one of my favorites!!! I am a bit distracted by the broken/cut leaf edge.....a slight tone down may help there.....but overall a very nice image and I hope you get out to shoot shortly!

Carel, this one brought a big smile to my face...fantastic pose! Great composition, wonderful BG, effective use of DOF....you nailed this. Roman makes a good point about possibly toning down the lighter tone of the broken edge of the leaf...but this is a fantastic image. Hope to see more!

I really like all those legs and straight on pose. Cut blade of grass kind of gives it a science fiction feel. I might add some more to the blacks to get a bit more contrast.

Very well done.

Very nice shot, excellent plane of focus, leaf edge better on repost but I prefer the contrast of the first, I think the repost is a little strong.

Carel, The image in Pane 1 is one of the very best, sweetest, most interesting insect images I have ever seen. No fancy bug or colors just beautifully done with a killer BKGR and just the right amount of sharpness.
