Cleveland, Ohio | March | Canon 40D | Canon 500mm f4 IS | 1.4x extender | hand held | ISO 250 f7 1/800sec | 90% of capture
The snow is still melting away in East Cleveland. It made for a nice light bg in this shot yesterday.

A nice flight capture Matt with wings caught in the raised position. Nicely composed in the frame and great BG.

Great to catch a flight image like this! Sharp on the face, and a nice clean background. Well done. Was this near a nest box or a feeder?

Great light and (landing?) pose. Did you make the image near a box?

Very nicely done Matthew,
Love the action, colors of your subject and the detail. However I would like to see more canvas to the left of your subject, or crop a little from the right of the frame. It's too centered for my taste...:D

Just beautiful Matthew !! Can only add I would have used a higher ISO for increased shutter speed I think you could have gotten the legs sharp!!!

Very nice image. An image like this is very difficult to make. After 1000's of attempt to capture bluebirds in flight, I have no satisfactory results. Please share how you made this image at 700mm and handheld.

To answer your question Linda, yes this was the bird's predictable manouver as he went from the top of the nest box and hovered to enter the box hole.
