Love the title Bill! Cute image too! Kind of reminds me of a photo of my kids exhibiting the same behavior at the beach when they were young. I like the sense of motion created by the blur in the raised foot. Great eye contact too. I would probably push the exposure 1/3 to the right, masking out the brightest whites in the posted version. And I would selectively brighten the head a little.

Super angle Bill, and just love how the the plover seems to be keeping ahead of the bubbles. Maybe a little off the left, and good points from Doug regarding exposure. Well captured.

Doug: I seem to have a tendency to make a lot of my images a little on the dark side. Here's a repost with the entire image brightened up a bit, plus some extra dodging on the face to help mitigate the side lighting. Plus a slight desat of the bill, which was nagging at me. Better. Thanks.

Stuart: I left the crop per the OP, for fear that taking some off the left might put the bird too centered for my taste (unless I cropped a little more all around which is a possibility).
