Heavily cropped, tripod used, would like to have added a stop or two of exposure bias as I was observing white birds in the water in the same moment, sharpening 79, exposure +55, fill light 6, vibrance +6, luminance 37, sharpen edges, unsharp mask 67%, used the Lasso Tool to outline the bird from the right side of the image for NR strength 10, manually focused (required). The light bar in the far right of the frame is a foreground reed.
This was my first occasion (Aug 9-10, 2011), as the birds are migrating south through the center of the Florida peninsula, to photograph Black Tern, Stilt Sandpiper, Upland Sandpiper, Pectoral Sandpiper, Gull-billed Tern, Wilson's Phalarope, Common Nighthawk, and Helmeted Guineafowl not previously seen in my four years of observing Florida's wildlife.
