This Egyptian goose gosling ( is that right ? ) was enjoying spending time on the water. This was taken at the University of Pretoria sports grounds a while back.

Sharp with lovely detail and such a cute bird. Shooting angle is a bit high. I haven't seen this bird but I feel colours are too warm. Here is a repost with some cooling filter applied. WDYT?

Stuart:

Good comments from Ofer re: shooting angle, but you did get a cute reflection of the head. Color temp used depends on time of day and the effect you were after. Ofer's version is probably closer to what our eyes would see, but if you were trying to fix the time of day with golden light effect, that can work too. I like the subtle ripples in the water, gives it a bit of texture.
Cheers

High on the cuteness scale, for sure. Beautiful little gosling, and lovely detail. Shooting angle noted. I like the golden light of the OP even if it may be a little exaggerated -- maybe somewhere in between the OP and Ofer's repost?

The bird is very cut, also love the distortion of the bird head in the water, it looks funny...agree with the angle, a lower angle in this one would be perfect, but you would probably loose the reflection...

Interesting contrast between the images. I agree with somewhere in between for the ideal image.

Thanks a stack for the feedback guys.

Ofer, thanks a stack for your repost. I do agree yours works closer to the original, but I added a bit of warmth, as my original was a tad flat.

A slightly lower angle was possible, but this location has a grass embankment much higher than the waters edge, and lying in duck poo wasnt an option.:w3

Really cute for sure. How about trimming bottom just a tiny bit to give it a better balance feel?
