The pose looks very nice. It seems to be drilling a hole on the tree.
I like the sawdust falling down.
The reds look a little too saturated on my monitor.
The tail looks a little dark. Maybe using flash would have helped here.

Nice picture, like the flying sawdust, overall exposure.
Luis made some good points about the reds, which is a common problem with these guys (easily oversaturated)

There appears to be some luminance noise showing up in the green background.

Please be sure to include all your camera/lens and post processing info, it really helps with the critiques.

From a comp standpoint, I would prefer more room below and less above.

Hi Erik,

I agree with Randy's points. But I especially like the expression of concentration that the bird has.
