Hi!! My first picture here :)

This is a bird from the province of Entre Rios, Argentina. Although it doesn´t look like it, it is mainly vegeterian.

I don´t like the backgroud too much; it was too close to the bird

Hi Herman Bienvenido !!!!

Agree with your asestment of the bg You can some blurring and will improve A full up or down wing position would have made a big difference Show off the bird and eliminate the shadow on the bird Nice and sharp eye Looking forward to many more !!!!

Nice Southern Screamer (Chauna torquata). I imagine this is not an easy bird to photograph. What sort of habitat do they prefer? Voy a Argentina cada año, pero solomente Buenos Aires a Ushuaia.

I very much like the head against the dark primaries- really makes it stand out.

Salud.

Thank you very much for your comments!!

The bird prefers wet and warm places like "esteros" (marshes), but it can also be found near lagoons in the prairie.

Saludos!!

John, you should definitely visit Iberá (Esteros del Iberá, in the province of Corrientes), you'll see plenty of these, and lots more. It's an amazing spot for bird photography in particular and nature photography in general.
