Red fox

After a long time no see I could 'shoot' this fox.....a while a go I encounter one but the pictures where bad so now I'm happy with my new pictures .....I hope you like this one also.

Nice details you captured here, Willem. If you have a little more space on the right I would use it to give the tail a little more room. Glad he came out for you.

Nicely caught in the open. Was it startled, as the pose looks that way?
I would add a sliver more space behind the tail on RHS if you have it...
The background is a bit busy but it's always the case if the animal is close to thick foliage. :S3:

Hei Willem, the fox certainly looks spooked or very timid.

Personally I would like to see more room around the whole subject, it's just a little tight for me, especially on the RHS of the frame. The light also looks quite bright too, have you tried shooting early morning or towards late afternoon as foxes are very good time keepers, especially if they know there is regular food about.

I might suggested looking at perhaps f7.1 or even 5.6 to help that BKG still retaining detail where you need it. The sharpness looks OK, but again from a personal POV I might just drop it a fraction IMHO and apply only to the fox, as the grass at the foot is beginning to suffer a little.

It was not that far,15.3 m from the fox and at 500mm is is quickly big in the frame. About the space around ......I have simply none,this is full frame. I wish for more room my self to put the fox more to the left site of the frame but I had no time to backup or change my lens I was looking for birds.
