I hope you like this.
Canon 7D
Lens 100-400mm at 370mm
Manual
Cropped for composition by 15% on right side.
Cloned out a brownish blob to left of chick and an OOF rock on the left
ISO 320
SS 1/1250
F 6.3
These "teenagers" are losing their baby down and growing real feathers. They are getting more comfortable with me and as long as I stay still and let them come to me I can get fairly close shots.
Comments and critiques always appreciated and learned from,
Gail

That's a very cute little guy.
Excellent image Gail, I love the composition, the tones and the low angle of the shot.
I would suggest tilting the image a little bit CCW to level the in-focus area below the bird.

Wow, such a beauty, Gail. Love the low angle, raised foot, and the fine pastel colours.
You are lucky that you have access to this attractive shorebird family.

You caught a great pose here and low angle works very well!
And great job getting these guys to accept you at close range!

Hi Gail, love the low angled walking pose, and you captured a good HA here too. Overall nice and sharp, and I agree, a little CCW rotation is needed. :w3

Thanks Guys
I agree about CCw. I didn't notice it so here is a repost

Nice low angle, and I actually like the OOF clumps in the BG. Good walking pose, and the plumage is in an interesting transitional phase. There is a bit of blue cast on the shaded part of the plumage that can be eliminated by desaturating the blue and cyan channels. Well done Gail!

Lovely pose, low angle and light, Gail. I love how you captured him mid-strid, with that cute head turn.
I'd remove the 4-5 darkish spots ahead of the bird just around his chest level and the two behind him below the tail.
I do love it as presented. TFS.
