Cody, this might not be the correct forum for film-grain effects, simply because we are working on exposure settings and to enhance IQ issues. That being said, I really like the shot and the effects. But then again, I am a sucker for a nice male mallard picture. I will ask Kerry for his opinion, he also Mod's the OOTB forum.

Hi Cody, I don't think we need to move this to OOTB. The adjustments you made are fine in either forum, but either way you get me!

I like the pose, eye contact, and the fact that the duck is swimming toward you with a good low shooting angle. Good job on the exposure, the whites are well controlled while the blacks seem a little dark. Feels like this one needs a bit of CW rotation. I'm not a big fan of the grain look as it looks exactly like noise because it is, and people assume that you forgot to use noise reduction on it. If you were simulating an old photo and used it as part of that effect it would be more acceptable. I think the vignette works well, just might make it a bit smaller overall.

I think I will redo with a bit more old portrait style like suggested, because I do like the feel of the grainy look with the strong vignette. I did however do an edit how you suggested Kerry and I like the results of that as well

I like both versions but would like to see the mallard less centered...a little more to the left. He also needs a sliver of CW rotation.
