Another village in France taken at around 5:00 PM. Still quite bright since it gets dark around 10. Biggest problem one faces in shooting these types of images is the bright and shaded light. When shooting villages it's hard to avoid it so either doing an HDR or using a GND is desirable. I used a GND on this holding it over the lense sideways in order to even out the exposure on the rt.

Dave...nice job balancing the exposure on this one. I like the greens in the ULC but the green door is too green for my tastes...it draws my eye too much....you might consider toning it down just a bit

Hey Dave,
Now that's putting the GND to good use! I agree on toning down the door a bit and I may also tone down the brightest areas in the FG a few points......just to even out the tones further. Nice job using the lines to lead us into the scene!

Hi Dave

Very clever use of the GRd filter... I have struggled in identical situations, now I have another string to add to my bow...Agree with the green and maybe the flowers in the foreground pot being a tiny bit strong but I like the draw into the image...

Dave a lovely village scene - it definitely draws you into wanting to visit and have a glass of . Roman, do you agree that it need a drop of CCW  ? Beat ya! :t3

Dave,

I agree with the above and would add, seems a bit soft to me. Some additional sharpening perhaps?

Lovely village and scene, Dave! Nice job with the exp. It looks leveled to me, I think the slop on the ground gives the illusion that it's not.
