I took this shot in an Australian zoo. I think it is a curlew. I liked the pose of the bird...besides taking out the oof water is there anything else I can do?

Bob: Nice sharp bird . . . you might consider a little more room to the left for it to look into . . .

Good detail in the bird. exposure of bird looks OK Might highlight the eye a tad. Agree with Wendell add some space to the left and remove some from the right to get the bird out of the center. Would also crop some from the bottom. I would wonder about lightening a little the background so there was not quite such a contrast between the bird and the bkgr. Wouldn't curlew have a longer bill?

Bob, really nice looking bird and I love the dark background. Good suggestions above... I love the pose, exposure, color, and detail. Do you have canvas to try the crop suggestions?

I think all of the other suggestions are good Bob. I really like this image, the bird looks pretty sharp enerywhere for f4. I like the dark background as it shows off the bird nicely.

I love the dark background. Would certainly try the crop suggestions, maybe even a bit off the bottom. Other than that, there is one little light spot above and to the left of the bill, it is part of the background but almost looks like a smudge, I would evict that. Beautiful job with the bird.

Hi Bob- It's a Stone-Curlew, which are peculiar shorebirds with big eyes. I really like the darker tones and mood of the image, also the very low angle. Crop suggestions above are excellent.

Love the way this one stands out from the dark BG...
