My mother has 2 males and a female that come to her feeder most mornings so I have been spending a little time over there before work.
MarkIII, 700mm, f/8, 1/1600, ISO1250. Like to here your thoughts on wing blur, more or less?

All comments appreciated.

Hey Neil, I am fine with the degree of wing blurring but am not a fan of the position of the near-wing.

Love the flower and the BKGR and the SH of the face. The bird is a bit short on head angle....

Agree with Artie on all counts ... might also suggest desaturating the flower just a tad and maybe taking a tiny bit off of the right side.

Ditto on the above. But keep on trucking.

Neil, you are lucky to have these little guys at your moms to photograph. I have yet to get a decent IF shot of one :e3

Adorable subject, great BG. I also wish for a better near wing position. I am sure you will be back with more. I will be looking forward to seeing them. :S3:

Hi Neil.

Nice capture of a beautiful little bird. The wing blur is nice as is, although I wish both wings wings had been a bit more fully displayed and were not so stubby. If I were you, I would consider toning down the flower a little. But you should be pleased with this fine image.

Beautiful BG and detail. Ditto Artie's comments on HA, flower and wing position. Keep 'em coming.

Thanks for the comments.
I knew it's far from the perfect shot. But it sounds like I have my settings fairly well dialed in, so now I just need to spend more time at the feeder hoping for just the right pose...
