I am in the process of placing perches outside my new garden hide, trying to find optimal positions for lighting at various times throughout the day. This was taken at 17.06hr.
All comments regarding lighting and background etc. especially welcome.

Very nice perch, details and HA. Liked the comp. as well. Light angle w.r.t the bird is very good.

You are having too much fun in your backyard! You've got a good BG. Subject is nice...good details, and exposure. The perch has nice qualities and colours to it, but I'm not fond of the large protruding OOF part of it (in front of the foot). You could physically prune that part out, then flip the perch around (left to right) to hide the pruning job. Perch selection is very important and almost an artform in itself!!

Thanks everyone much appreciated. Dan I knew I just knew someone would pick me up on the protrusion, the end of it was bare so I cloned a little lichen in, I agree it is a tad messy, I will have another perch tomorrow.

Nice detail captured, exposure looks spot!

It's always nice capturing birds on your own perch

Lovely look back pose, details and comp, Jon.
Your garden sounds like a delightful place.
If anything, I wish for a better perch.
