Here is an image taken in Costa Rica. I removed some OOF moss in front of the bird and some moss strands that touched the underside feathers. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated.

Jim ;

Striking color combination on this fellow, well exposed, nice detail.

I might consider trying to tone down the oof perch near the RLC. It does tend to draw my eye because of its location and brightness. My first thought would be to burn it in slightly.

Nice sharpness with that shutter speed.

Cheers

Jim, I couldn't see a difference in the two posts? Anyway I love the great colors and feather detail as well as the great sharp face and eye. It would have been nice to have more dof in the front part of the perch but I still like the image as is.

IQ and details are insane. I love the colors in the blue feathers. Image is so good that perch doesn't even phase me!

Those blueish colours are absolutely stunning! Love the detail and great background to add to it. Ditto that the perch could have been better, but it doesn't really bother me a lot.

Superbly captured!:S3:

Striking colours Jim, and good job on the blacks of the head. Pose looks good, and Im OK with the perch with regards to the size. I do agree about toning down the end part though. :w3

Thanks to everyone for the comments. The female landed on the same perch right after the male left. I don't like the perch as well but thats where they landed so I took what I could get.

Jim, what a bird and your capture does full justice. Eye-level shooting angle makes such a big difference. Stunning details. I dont mind the perch as nothing is obstructing the view. Well done.
