Hi All,

This is my first post. Made this with Canon 7D, Canon 500mm f4 TC. Bean bag on vehicle on a overcast day.

And what a fine opening image it is..>Love the DOF and the IQ is tops. Great perch(Termite mound I presume) and lovely layered smooth BG. Great image

What a cracker!!! I like the fact the entire bird is in focus.

I wonder if a slight dodge of the right side of the face would lift this image. I'm not against shadows but this might be candidate for well...... no shadows :S3:

Thanks everyone for your appreciation.

Forgot to write the name of the species in the post even though tagged the post with name. This is Short-toed Snake Eagle (Circaetus gallicus)

Welcome to BPN!!

Sharp, well exposed, and quite the intense stare! Just enough perch showing. I see what Paul means about the shadow on the face, and I wish the dark area above was not as prominent (you could try lightening it a bit)...but man, what a nice start!! Looking forward to more:S3:

I tried opening up the shadows on the right side. Used adjustment brush in Adobe Camera RAW. Pls let me know how it is now.

Welcome to BPN and what a killer first post. The repost works better. Love the stare, the details, the colors and pose here. IT all came together very nicely. Looking forward to seeing more of your work!

Hi, welcome to BPN. Definitely one of the best first-posts we've seen. Kilelr look, IQ, BG, perch, shooting angle....very well done. If mine, I'd have tad more room on the right.

Is this the same place where Kiran( Poonacha) photographs raptors?

Kaustubh,

Kiran insists that this is the same place where he shoots. But I never saw him there though :bg3:
