Went up to Tiny Marsh Provincial Wildlife Area near Barrie, Ontario yesterday for some sunrise images. Applied a little Nik 'tonal contrast' to the clouds for more impact.

Nikon D200
Nikon 12-24mm lens @ 12mm
f16 @ 0.5 sec.
ISO 100
Singh Ray 3-stop reverse grad

Look forward to comments.

Very nice scene.
It looks a bit too blue on my monitor.
I would some off the top, the sunset is very nice and I would emphasize that more.

Andrew - I agree with Dan's suggestion of cropping a bit from the top, maybe even go to a pano. For me, it's the sunset and those great colors that are of interest more than the very blue clouds. Also looks like there's a fair amount of noise in the clouds. Love the look of the marsh, the sun and the reflection. I think it would work well as a pano.

Rachel

Hey Andrew,
I was going to suggest a pano crop too......but before you do that.....try going into selective color and pulling back black on the blue, cyan, neutral, and perhaps white channel. This may open up some additional depth in the clouds.....although the pano will still make for a strong V comp there.
Minor tweaks should make this shine!
