This is just two of Shingo's famous 6 pack taken last Oct when around 8 weeks old.

As of just last week I can confirm that they are ALL still doing well and coming up to their first birthday, a fabulous achievment for one very special mum!
(Will post a recent image of all 7 when I can get permission :w3)

D3s 500VR 1/250s f/6.3@ISO400

C & C most welcome

Cheers
Marc

I can't wait for Aug

Excellent image , liked the way you have framed it , Large space on top really shows how tiny they are

I am afraid this one doesn't work for me. The tree is too overpowering and the cubs too small in the frame. The idea is nice though.

I think the tree actually shows how small these guys were ( at time of capture ) Having said that, I do agree the tree trunk is a fair size, so it would dwarf anything.

Congrats on your earthshot - 'death all around' :w3

Amazing mother they have, so TFS. The image is not really working maybe because the one cub has its back to us and the other is the size of the tree in the frame. I also see a blue cast in the white and grey parts of the image.

Would love to see more of these youngsters if you have!:S3:

Marc will have to go with above comments, I think you needed more zoom here, getting one of the cubs instead of both would have maybe worked better.:cheers:

I quite like this...the tree diminishes the little cheetahs, which is sort-of the point?

How about an alternative crop to maybe lessen the effect of this 'diminishing'? I also adjusted the colour balance as I felt it was a tad green, and toned down highlights a bit overall.

Your thoughts, Marc? :t3

Appreciate the comments everyone, agree having the cub as a solo would have more impact, however image was already cropped around 30% (should have stated earlier).

Congrats on your earthshot - 'death all around' :w3

Thanks Stuart

Looks to have created quite a stir.

Here's one I prepared (posted earlier) :bg3:

Thanks Morkel, that's the idea I had in mind also, but needed some more pixels. :e3

Not an encouraging thing to say for a guy who's just about to go from an 18mp camera to a 12mp camera...:t3:2eyes2:...

(I'll let that statement smoulder a bit...hehe)

Let's just say I'm strongly weighing the options in front of me....:w3

Morkel's repost is an improvement IMO. Also shows the small cub and big tree but more effectively.:w3

Marc - I like the idea and think the OP is more effective as the tree isn't as big and overwhelming in Morkel's repost. IMO having the second cub in the image highlights that they are young cubs (I know the fur on the neck is a give-away too) and just how small they are, just wish it was facing us.:S3:

TFS,
Rachel

Early news coming through says that a cheetah and one of her 6 cubs killed by a lion in Naboishi. Could be Shingo, if so I hope her surviving cubs are old enough to cope without her.
