ON a recent storm chasing trip, we had time to explore some abandoned buildings including this house. Inside the house I found a nest on the medicine cabinet in the bathroom. Almost all had been stripped from the place, but an unknown specie of bird used the top of the medicine cabinet as a nesting location.
The rest of the story is in the avian forum. Since we were driving all over the place, I lost track of what roads and which state we were in. The sky was clear, but later, clouds covered the sky, lightning flashed, thunder rolled, hail and amazingly heavy rains occurred. But this was only interesting due to its being abandoned, the nearby older buildings and the nest.
