 Picture was taken early in the morning of December, 2010.Pond Heron saw something in the water and aimed the target .I liked the posture and his look in the image.
Canon EOS 550D, 100-400mm IS USM. Av mode, F: 5.6, SS: 1/1600, ISO: 600, Spot metering, White balance: Auto. Exposure bias: 0.3 step. Hand held. C& C most welcome.

Really nice alert, watchful pose; the dark bg colors add drama and enhance the intensity of the image. I wish the head were a bit more parallel to the viewer and if you have it, you might want to add a bit more canvas to the bottom.

Katie read my mind and I agree entirely with her.
Slight lines in the BG make me think you may be using a filter on that lens (or lens protector??). I would get rid of that immediately if you are.

Yes ,I have used UV Filter.I read your nice informative article.Now I will stop using filters.
However,I do not know how to remove lines in the bg.I will be highly obliged to you,if could tell me( if your precious time permits you) how to do it.

No problem Satish,

I would try using the blur tool in photoshop at 100% strength. It did a fairly good job of getting rid of the slight lines but I also used a very light blur filter (lens blur at 10%) on the background. Hope that helps :S3:
