I had to look at this image several times b/c it is simply so unusual. I REALLY like it. I like the hint of blue in the crab and the way the capture is monochromatic. I like the way you have positioned the crab in the frame. The crab really stands out....yet it blends in.

Thanks Marina and Harshad.
Marina- You just described everything that I like about the image.
I just noticed that I skipped the sharpening step on this one too. I haven't shot much lately (but I'm ramping back up) and it looks like my workflow has suffered. Thanks again...

Great comp, nice smooth bg, sharpness issue noted above. Looks like it only has one claw.

Thanks Andrew
Rachel- Sand crabs have one big claw and a little skinny arm(?) on the other side.
I applied some sharpening and cleaned up a few distracting spots

Interesting take Michael, it is quite appealing and certainly grows on the viewer after the initial look. I like the tones here and the side angle on the crap. The repost is sharper indeed!
I have to ask - was there any chance to get lower here?

Hi Morkel
Unfortunately no, at least not for this one. Any movement at all scares these little guys and they scamper off to a burrow.
