More of my experiments with the images from the inner circle access tour of Stonehenge. Taken vertical and to show the shaft of light coming through the opening.

Canon 7D
16-35 @ 25mm
1/125
f22
ISO 400
EC -1.0
HH, converted to B&W in DPP, cloned out blown highlight, S/H, darkened stones, lightened shaft of light, sharpened in CS5, slight crop from left and above for comp purposes.

C&C welcome and appreciated. Thanks,

Rachel

Hey Rachel,
Similar to the other post comment wise.....I think this could go with the shadows opened up.....or as you have in this case.....much darker. I do like this take although I am debating a sliver off the right to remove the side of the stone. I might try to tone down the one brightest spot just a touch more too. Nice job overall.

Hi Rachel, I like this simple yet effective composition. Agree with Roman on the slight crop on the rt.
I might try S/H on the sky to bring out a bit more detail and contrast otherwise well handled...

Hi Rachel, my favorite one of the series! I like how we see some of the stones of the circle slightly OOF through this gate. The light is a great plus too, adds to the mysterious atmosphere. I'm in favour of making the shadows even darker suggested by Roman. Some work on details and contrast on the sky as suggested by Dave will take this over the top. Well done!

Great series, Rachel. Nice comp and use of B&W. Interesting combo of silhouette and textures.
I like your vision on these.
Just a small nit (and probably not important) regarding the small halos on some of the edges of the darker elements.

Thanks Steve and Dave. Steve - I noticed the halos which I think are the result of the s/h adjustment.

Thanks again,
Rachel
