I found these oystercatchers singing together on my first trip to Nickerson's. Thanks for the tips Charles. 1D mark IV, 800 f5.6, iso 400, f7.1, 1/1600 shot manually. All C & C appreciated.

Herb, they certainly are in sync :S3:

Not sure what is going on in PP or if this a fairly large crop but these look over sharpened.

Hey Herb, if it wasnt for the different leg positions, I would have thought you just copied the second OC into the image. :w3 Well timed to get the similar poses and open beaks, and I like the low perspective. Maybe a little off the bottom, and just look out for the over sharpening. There is a strong halo around the OC's.

Hey Herb, before I comment technically.. was this cropped? if so, how much?

Aren't these birds great? Always doing something fun to photograph. THe good thing too is that you can always go back and rework a situation. Here, I'd try to get closer to your subjects and look for a cleaner section of the beach with less clutter.

Yep, that is a pretty significant crop, and you can indeed expect some loss of details that way. Humourous image though, I like the synchronization of the calling poses. Some cleanup of the beach is an option, as well as Grace's suggestion of physically looking for a cleaner area of the beach.

Thanks for putting a smile on my face (or should I thank n'Sync!):S3:

Love the synchronized poses. The picture holds up well for such a large crop.
