Took this one morning back in January at La Jolla, CA. Liked the slight bank to the pose. Added some fill light in ACR, and some canvas to bottom & left as bit of wing tip was clipped. Then, cropped to keep head from being too centered. Went through the Photoshop checklist from Art's Digital Basics which I always keep by my computer as a guide for making adjustments. Added slight surface blur to water.

Awesome job on this one... its a beautiful and sharp in flight shot. Great capture Branden :c3:

I would take some saturation out if it were mine, especially below the eye. :w3

Thanks for the feedback, folks!

Chad, I think you're right about the saturation. The breeding colors are so bright, the red kind of blasted my sensor! I think lowering it some, makes it less distracting and helps to focus more on the face and rest of image.

Really nice focus and color.
I would have liked more room all around.
Excellent pose.

Thanks very much, Dan.
I think if we could post images that were a bit larger, I would probably add some more space all around, but with this size, when I added space, I felt the pelican became too small and you could not appreciate the detail as much.

Excellent Brendon, cannot fault this besides more space ESP on top, easy to do.... Very Nice pose and love the detail.

Hi Brendan, your spoonbill's are redder than ours, you pelicans are browner and more colourful than ours, so we dont stand a chance here. :w3 Great flight posture, and I like how the bill follows the line of the far wing. Just love the colour and detail on the head and bill, and overall, nice and sharp.
