Took this the other morning,on my local river,there was some good light for a change,I just liked how it seemed to give me a sly look,as if to say I know you are there.cannon7d,400mm prime lens,tripod,f6.3,1/2000,iso640,alittle sharpening,small crop,comments good or bad.thanks.

Another lovely image! Love the eye contact, beautiful light, and the habitat. Maybe some noise reduction on the BG.

Nicely done with a pleasing COMP, a good EXP, and the perfect look-back head angle. Way to go! I would opt to lose the one bright area behind the bird....

Very nice indeed, I like the composition, just been capturing images of ringed plovers at Gronant North Wales, the little ringed are not too common around Wirral.

thanks for your comments,you are right Ofer about noisein BG,it looked ok before I posted it.Arthur thanks I missed that,Jonathan,the bit of river I go on,there are 3breeding pairs,thanks again.

+1 on above comments. Also, a nice low perspective - really draws the viewer into the bird's environment. There seem to be two catchlights (or maybe one that has been elongated).

May I ask which 400mm you used? The image has excellent detail - I can see tiny blood vessels in the bird's iris!
