I was shooting shorebirds one day when I caught this Osprey out of the corner of my eye with a nice fresh catch of the day:)

Outstanding shot. Great background. Sharp. Love behavior shots like this. Love the movement in the wings and all of the detail.

Great capture, David. Maybe sharpen the eye a tad and increase saturation of the yellow?

Great catch if a little steep angle. Excellent underwing detail.

I have more of a question than a critique. I'm often in the same situation of being in "one shot" AF mode shooting stationery birds, and a great bird in flight approaches, and by the time I get to switch to servo AF, I get great shots of a bird flying ~away from me! ;-)

Can anyone relate? Thoughts?

Let me add that this is a great close up nice contrast shot! Excellent!

Thanks!

Great exposure control means great color, very well done.
