From the Adirondacks this fall.....low in the water. I've been trying this type of image for years.....this one is closest I've come comp wise.......still searching for that perfect one.
Canon 1D Mark lll with the 18-1355 lens at f22 for 30 seconds and ISO 100 tripod flat on ground in water....graf studioball head. FF left to right.....crop off top. Saved at 67 quality

Stunning colors, Roman, and the rock is really cool looking.
The horizontal water lines are a bit distracting, although with a 30 second exposure it would be extremely hard to get a perfectly still water look.
Very Nice.

I like the lines in the water, it gives a sense of motion of the water. Great colors and tack sharp rock. Nice one.

Roman, the reflections are beautiful along with good rock placement.

Hey Roman, I'd say you nailed it this year! If it were mine I might clone out the brightest lines in the water - floating leaves maybe?

Hey Roman,

Nicely done...

The sharpness of the rock against the softness of the reflections keeps the eye wondering around the image to rationalize the juxtaposition !

Hi Roman, I think you came close this year...... Great sharpness and details on the rock and you just got to love those fall colors. Two points of critique: I'd like just a little more room between the rock and the left edge of the frame and I don't like that the reflections of the trees make an odd angle with the edges of the frame. Rotating the image CCW so that the lower left line of the rock to be a straight horizontal will easily fix the problem. I tried, but had to crop of too much all around that it did no futher good to the already strong compositional elements, but here's the image just to show you the effect of the trees.
18-1355 huh? Would that still fall in the category all purpose travel lens? :bg3:
Can't wait for next fall and your definite version of the image you've been looking for!

Great image. The color is fantastic but not oversaturated. I think this might work with a more panoramic crop too, not better just different.
