My favorite Columbia Gorge waterfall.
An accidental shot that turned out well I thought.
I fell crossing the creek, did not get camera wet but accidentally turned the setting to a programable setting on my D7000, That I use on dark winter mornings with auto iso.
So, after I took this shot I realized it when I looked at the info, but it turned out the best of the morning!
1/30

-33
iso1600 (really)
The D7000 is known to shoot high iso, but i would never really use it this high.
No noise reduction used.

Hey Dan,
I know this falls and have been there myself so I like the bit of unusual angle. I do feel that this image is a bit divided.....with the bushes on the left and the empty space on the RT. If possible moving right and getting the curve of the flow and perhaps vert......would make for a more dramatic comp. I do like the lushness and colors look good and I also think you chose a VG SS to keep some depth in the falls. Well done overall but I do think this would have been stronger as a vert.

I agree completely with crop suggestion, although with the really high iso, I didn't really try.
There was also a ton of spray with the big water still coming over right now that the crop also shows a few lens spots. The comp does look better though,
Thanks.

Hi Dan, I was ready to do a repost until I saw yours. This is exactly what I envisioned...alot stronger!

Hi Dan,

Much prefer the second image. Beautiful falls and image for the same reasons as Roman and Dave suggest.

Dan - repost takes it up a notch. Nice colors and comp. I like the inclusion of the bridge.
