Amazing image Kaustubh. Your signature low angle, gorgeous light and what a bird.
+1 on this being the best of your avocet images. Great work!

Stunning light, pose FG & BG. I like the reflection of the water on the bird's neck and the water drop. They both add a nice touch. Your low angles are amazing and really make your subjects pop.

I like the colors and the low angle, but the best is the pose and the contact of the beak with the water. Well done.

Hey KD, how do you always achieve these perspectives, as if you are actually in the water? These angles add so much more to the image. Super feeding pose, and I like the droplet from the bill. Sharp, well exposed, and I like the multi coloured BG.

Stuart, thx. just lying flat on the bank. Key is to find a spot on the bank which is almost at water level. If its flat, great...otherwise its a pain in the neck...literally :-) When I took this shot, there were two guys next to me shooting the same bird with 500mm lenses....standing up with tripods fully raised :-) I did ask them if had heard of BPN and NSN...as expected, they had not.

Makes sense KD - thanks. All of our birding spots around here, are not really accessible to get low down as mentioned. The one spot at the Pretoria university, one can get right up to the water's edge, but the edges are raised.

You are getting very dangerous with my old Toy Lens.... Ditto all of the plusses above. I'd lose (or at least tone down) the bill shine if it were mine. Love the water drops.

In a perfect world you would have been able to get lower so as to center the head and bill against the next strip of soft blue water....

All in all, very excellent.
