Arash,

Is this cropped from horizontal? Reason I ask is to find out if you have more room in front. I like the vertical presentation which works extremely well with the flight position you captured but I am wondering how you and others feel on whether it is preferable to have more room in front for bird to fly into.

I like the soft blur look of the water BG. Great positioning of the bird in the frame, angle of the wings and the head position all came together.

The white on the shoulders looks hot and close to being blown out.

Amazing pose, superb bg and exposure. The whites look good to me.
The tight vertical does allow for the superb details to be displayed. Nice work.

Great pose and sharp!! Colours a bit on the cold side but I guess light wasn't great.

It was cropped from horizontal but I am happy with the crop.

Whites look good on my screen and as close as possible to the real bird, histogram does not show any blown areas.

--> Ofer, this was taken in a cold winter day with over cast condition hence the cooler temperature, I have color corrected the Avocet though and the whites are perfectly neutral (check with eye dropper tool)

Arash,

Not sure if it is the monitor at work but it appears a bit soft on the screen.

Thanks Troy, sharpness looks good on my screen. image has not much micro contrast due to low light conditions.

Good, we have cheap Dell monitors at work.

Soon, I will request for a 3rd monitor at my desk as I need it to do support. Maybe I will get a better one at least for photo viewing!

Superb--heck, incredible--pose and detail. Dorsal view spectacular. I would love to see a bit more room top, bottom, and in front of the bird. Just a bit.

Arash, wonderful colors, I like the cooler feel to this image. Excellent pose, detail is crisp and exposure wonderful. A tad more room wouldn't hurt but I would be very proud of a shot this good.

Great banking angle Arash, and overall well exposed. I do like the colour of the water, and if this were mine, I would add a little to the bottom and right.
