Oh yeah, Troy, this is good. Nice downbeat, good eye contact, nice job on the pinks (though the whites are getting a little warm there at the base of the neck). As a fellow D3Ser, I find your settings instructive. For a slow flyer such as a flamingo, 1/2000 is fast enough, allowing you to do noise reduction right in the field; that is, you can opt for the very low ISO of 400, in which case you'll have little or no noise. I do wish folks would report subject distance; it's easy enough to glean that info in Adobe Bridge.

Yep, 25.1 m, that's about right. Therefore f5.6 was yet another good choice.

You nailed it Troy with soft BG, good wing position and good head angle tot he camera. I would suggest working on the shoulder to reduce its brightness some.
