Sorry for the title, i didn't want to just put - 'it's a Giraffes eye' :S3:

Occasionally it's nice just to think about a detail of an animal rather than the whole subject, although I am really liking the more wider aspect of things, as per some of the current posting members have made here. Not perhaps the greatest image of this subject, but perhaps a different POV?

Hi Steve, very much like the wrinkles in the skin that are so noticeable in this close up. They work as leading lines for me. Nice textures and detail. On my screen I find that the top right corner of the image is very dark and it draws my attention away from the eye a bit..
Nice idea and good to have something different again.
Good job of handholding the 500f4 with a 1.4 tc....
cheers

Nice intimate close up Steve. Just makes me want to reach out and feel the texture.

Nice ROT crop Steve. I agree with you on the URS being too dark.

Great detail Steve, like this approach and the comp. Giraffes tend to make good candidates for close-ups.
