I was exploring a new area of these badlands here in the Bighorn Basin a few weeks back. Found some great colors and formations. Captured this image just before sunset

Hi, beautiful light with good placement of the foreground rock. I also like the fact you minimalised the sky and captured good detail throughout the image. A well thought out composition!

The shadow from the lone rock leads my eye to the balancing rock in the background. Well done.

Hey Dale,
I agree with the observations above but do wonder if repositioning would have allowed you to minimize the shadowed wall on the LH side?.....keeping the rock pointing at the formation. Not sure that was possible.....so all in all, well done!

Dale,

I have been pondering this one since yesterday as I wanted to better articulate why I feel this just does not work. There seems to be things in the image that if arranged differently would be more visually interesting but I cannot say how you might have made this better in the field given the view shown here.
