While spending time with the family in Sanibel I took some time to spend some time with the locals and came a cross this little guy. It's easy to see why they're called Snowy Plover. They really blend in.

The details: Camera Model: Canon EOS 30D, Exposure mode: Manual using incident, Shutter speed: 1/400 sec, Aperture: 9, ISO: 100, Lens: EF500mm f/4L IS USM +1.4x, Focal length: 700mm.

One of my favorite photo subjects. Nice low angle and good light. Good detail on the bird though it may be a bit oversharpened as I note a halo around the beak. You might tone down the whites on the large shell in the background.

Great angle on this Snowy...a species that is not very common down in Florida. I love the light and shell details in the sand. I also agree with Steve that toning down the large shell in the background would be helpful to the overall image. I think a little more room for that bottom foot would also be effective. Fine work!

Sweet bird! I think it needs a bit of CCW rotation and a little less sharpening.

Beautiful little bird and wonderful job in capturing the image. The few nits mentioned should be easy to take care of. Nicely done.
