My First White Morph, first time seeing it and capturing images of this pretty bird. I did not see them the last few times I was there.
Went out with Luca from Italy. The morning a slow start until we decided to wait at one spot for this bird while other 3 photographers decided to leave. This guy stayed for a good 30 mins, giving us shows ranging from fishing to preening, it even attracted got the Reddish to fly in twice.
Side lightning from the only shooting position, filled flash saved this shot. Hope you like it.

Thank you Ofer, did you mean a bit dark or bright? Your repost is brighter than mine. Appreciate your advise!

Hi Troy, on my screen your original post looks washed out with very little contrast and colours. I guess it looks differently on your screen - wonder what others think...:2

Original looks fine to me IMO. Side lighting + fill flash has been handled really well. Minor nit is that the crest/nape feathers have placed small lines of shadow over the eye.
Had a quick play to see if some cloning might help but I'm undecided on the outcome.

Hi Troy.

I like the pose, sharpness, good feather definition and fish in your image. I might add a bit more headroom if I could, but otherwise it is very nice.

I do think that the contrast could have cautiously been increased a little. But IMO the blues in the first repost are unnaturally vivid.

Well done.

Troy, excellent shooting angle and pose. Prey with visible eye a huge plus. I agree that the op needs a little more contrast. I liked how the light has emphasized the head gear. good work with the flash.

If you are trying to freeze foot motion, its always better to work at higher iso to get that extra SS.

Thank you guys. I will give it a bit more contrast.
I agree about the ISO, I was shooting the preening shot and this bird suddenly flew in and got the fish, it was within seconds, did not have time to change the settings.

Fanatstic image...I love the pose with the fish...Exp looks great and the wind blown (I think) feathers around the head make the image for me!

Lovely image, Troy. The bird, the prey, the wind-in-the-hair look all work so well.
Brilliant work with the flash. Well done!

Like the fish in the bill and the raised leg. The second post shows a little more detail in the feathers.
