This was taken last week at Anhinga Trail. Just one of a handful of shots that I was able to get since there was not that much action. this was about 7:30am, taken with:

Nikon D200
300mm f/4 w/ 1.4tc
Exposure mode, aperture priority
Focal length 420mm
f 5.6 1/500
iso 400
exposure -0.3ev

As always your critiques are always welcome, since this is the best method for me to learn from all of you.
Thank you.:)

Hi Oscar not much action but the STKs are in town !!! Will be lots of fun !!!!

With these guys always look for a bg before snapping Got a light sick on the back which catches the eye A couple of steps to the left should have been clear
I like the look and pose Might consider a slight curves boost for congrats !!!

Hey Oscar
Nice image, but have to agree with Al about that white branch on the bird's head, need to clone that out also boost your contrast a bit and sharpen the eye just a wee bit....:D

i agree with all of those above. looks like the focus point was on the lower neck feathers as those are tack sharp and the eye is a bit soft. i do like that pose. are you in the class sunday am at the trail also?

Yeah, the neck feathers are in sharp focus... not the face, but I really didn't notice the stick in the BG... unless it is mentioned, no one else, I think would care.
