I really love this image...The IQ and BG are outstanding. Perch is perfect and love the foliage. Perfect DOF and beautifully handled reds...What a photgraph!

Another lovely set up and pose. Very well done.

I do wonder about removing the bit of vine extending through the frame on lower left side and then cropping a bit off left side to remove some negative space.

A beautiful bird set off by the clear BKGR.

Great composition and I too would have pruned the vine leaving the area by the feet.

Alan,

What can I say? The head angle, catchlight, and pose make it seem like the bird is smiling at us. Superbly done, as usual. Looks like a nice 20 to 30 degree phase angle making nice fine shadow detail.

The nearly matching tones of the red (flowers) on the branch and the bird really make this one sing. Plus all the other positives mentioned above.

I wouldn't be surprised to see this one on a future cover. It all came together extremely nicely here.

Can the crest rise any higher??:S3: I like that extra twig extending out of the frame - I just wish its' leaf was in better condition.

Awesome image, as per usual...
