This Wood Duck was photographed from a blind on a small woodland pond. 7D, 500 mm f/4 + 1.4X, 1/640, f/5.6, ISO 400, tripod. All comments are welcome and appreciated.

Well exposed, nice display of green and purple on head, sharp.
These guys are always a challenge to show the full range from the blacks to the whites and the patch on the bill which often blows out. I might try and tease out a little bit more detail in the darks on the shoulder.
Looks like there was something in the way on the lowest area of the breast, slight haze.
I like the composition.

Steve, I think your choice of comp has managed to capture every colour this guy has.:w3 In doing that, you have brought out and exposed them very well. The lighter water BG makes them pop even more.
