From Lake Blue Cypress. Jim Neiger sure knows how to find owls!

Doug:

Excellent pose and angle in frame to show both sides of the wings.
Sharp, well exposed, pretty good DOF.

Framing wise, perhaps a bit tight for my tastes.

Cheers

I'd like more eye contact, but one can't have everything. The dead-on exposure is particularly impressive.

Jim Neiger sure knows how to find owls! .... and you know how to get the perfect shot. Good flying posture Doug, sharp, and just love the feather detail. Cool BG too. A slight turn of the head would have been great. :w3

No doubt about that Stuart. I picked this frame because it had the best wing position and nicest BG. Unfortunately, the owl didn't make eye contact in any of the images in this flight sequence.

This one is about as good as it gets for all of the above reasons. I am fine with the framing and love the wing position and the sharpness. Is the BKGR as is out of camera. It looks very sweet.

Thanks Artie. I removed a small brown area or two, but otherwise it's true to the RAW file.
