Taken yesterday, near home. I was too far away for good image detail, but I thought I'd share this because of the story line: Mockingbird perches on Bluebird house; Mrs. Bluebird comes out of the door, and tries to chase Mockingbird away; Mockingbird responds somewhat aggressively; Mr. Bluebird arrives from the right, and together they succeed in chasing Mockingbird away. Mrs. Bluebird didn't seem to suffer any ill effects.

Super job capturing this action. Glad to hear the outcome was positive for the blue birds.

Way to go Bill! I have seen action like this between these two birds that hate each other but have never

been able to get an image. Looks pretty sharp for 1/640.

Hi Bill. Great job of capturing the peak action - and you have a nice story to go along with it.

Great timing and excellent photo - Did you stand there anticipating the shot?

No Peter. I was actually standing there searching for Grasshopper Sparrows and Bobolinks in the grasslands when I noticed the Mockingbird land and the Bluebird stick her head out of the door. I got off 5 frames beginning with that scene, followed by her attack on the Mockingbird and ending with the one I posted. Unfortunately I missed the final one where the male Bluebird joined the fray.

Bill, great timing, and the mocking bird is a fair size larger than the bluebirds. The action looks like he's strangling the bluebird. Glad everything turned out fine.
