40D, Canon 100-400@400mm, 1/250 f 9.0, ISO 800/ HA not so good but I liked it anyway.

Good subject and nice BG. Unfortunately the bad HA and tight framing at bottom (clipped toes are a no-no) and left hurt the image. Looks like a tame individual - perhaps it'll give you another chance!:S3:

I agree with Daniel that the clipped toes and tail and ha take away from a lot of potential.
Photo is very sharp with lots of detail and well exposed.
Is this a local bird Arsdel? I have not seen of heard of them in this area before. We are probably less than 100 miles North of you so not far.

Cool bird, my first look at one.
The image is just too tight. That's a problem that is very easy to fix in the future, zoom out:S3:.
And of course you mentioned the head angle - however you sure get a good look at the crossed bill.
The subject is interesting, sharp and well exposed.
I really like the background and perch.
Bottom line, re-creating this image would be more than worthwhile.

es, this is a local bird. They migrate through here.
